This book is written as a Fiction Memoir to expose the vindictive vendetta and serious crimes committed against me from 1998 until at least 2003 and then continued until 2022. The only motivation my abusers would have had was of a financial nature: greed.
This is a scathing look at the dark side of society who treated me with contempt because of my vindictive narcissist ex-husband's attitude towards me.
I now have the power to do this.
I am not motivated by greed for writing this book. I want my story told so that everyone in New Zealand becomes aware of the extremely dark side of New Zealand's attitude and their desire for financial greed. while they go about destroying a person because they are motivated by greed.

Hi Folks. My name is Mary Wright and I live in New Zealand I will be 80 years old in May 2025. My website is to promote the book I wrote about the horrific bizarre covert narcissistic abuse I endured at the hands of my husband since 1962. I did not recognize his attitude as abuse until 1997 after reading the book Emotional Blackmail by Doctor Susan Forward. This book I thoroughly recommend to any woman who feels there is something wrong with her but can’t put a finger on to what the problem is.
I then took control of my life, became outspoken and stood up for myself. He did not like the new me, so he left me and started a horrific 6-year stalking spree. I found out early in the piece that he had a financier with $800.000 to use to bribe people to abuse me and to make sure he was never held accountable for his horrific abuse with the New Zealand police. I kept a diary of these years, and my book A Powerful Obsession is the result of this diary published in September 2023.
I am now on my 5th serious complaint with the police since 1998 and as I have heard nothing since 13 December 2024, I am consulting my solicitor on the 27th February 2025 about contacting them to see if they are investigating my serious complaint.
They seem to condone this serious abuse which cost me my well-earned $1.7 NZ million IT retirement fund, my home and I am now maimed for life with a serious disability because of his heinous interference in my life. I will update this site as my life progresses. The main thing I want my website to do is to educate other women who do not recognise what is happening to them.
I want to give detailed information on what to look for and how to tackle their problems. I only found out last year that my ex-husband is a vindictive covert narcissist the most dangerous a subtle form of narcissism ever. They dangle their vulnerability in front of you as bait waiting for your good nurturing instincts to kick in and rescue the poor little lost child they present to you. They hide behind a mask of respectability including presenting as a pillar of society the good guy which is of course hidden for anyone to see.
Beneath this mask reveals something far more sinister. Covert Narcissism is extremely damaging and dangerous as you are brainwashed into thinking you are dealing with a human being with morality perhaps even a pillar of society.
The book The Covert Narcissist by Dr Theresa J Covertis a book I thoroughly recommend to every woman. I hope to do a reprint of my book to bring readers up to date on the rest of my life.
I did have a good life or so I thought until I found out what my husband was really like. I travelled extensively, especially in the USA which I love. But I now know the reason I had holidays on my own or with a friend was to escape his horrific sarcasm and abuse. Those holidays gave me breathing space and a normal life without any abuse whatsoever.
So, folks, I will keep you updated with information for you to help you live a good life and an update on my life as things progress.
